A space for a new training environment was designed by connecting the indoors with the outdoors through nature itself. This community plan breaks boundaries by connecting and harmonizing with nature, and achieves a high level of space diversity. Various faces of the West Sea (sparkling ripples of the West Sea, seagulls peacefully criss-crossing the sky, and comforting, rustic rocks), combine to symbolize the nearby Anmyeondo Island. Just as the sand dunes on the beach represent the coexistence between the sea and the land, this building expresses a field of coexistence between nature and humans. Components of traditional Korean architecture such as a gatehouse and a panoramic landscape were incorporated into the building, and traditional bricks were taken and reinterpreted in a more conventional manner.
The first factor to be considered was economic feasibility. Auxiliary facilities were designed to generate as much profit as possible, and an optimal plan for reducing maintenance costs was proposed for the training institute. Facilities with a panoramic view of the surrounding environment of Anmyeondo Island were meticulously connected, and big brand F&Bs were mainly targeted to create an a more prominent advertisement effect for other commercial facilities. The second factor regards public property and its coexistence with the region. A refreshing dining space for culturally active business entertainment and healing is provided, and a rooftop garden, as well as multiple outdoor relaxation zones, provide areas for relaxation and discourse between users. In addition, the main pedestrian passageway, as well as the outdoor facilities, are all connected to provide more direct traffic thoroughfares for users. The third factor regards module planning and expansion planning that reflects the flexibility which is typically required by users. Facilities capable of holding and operating short-term training programs, seminars, workshops, and regional events were planned. The fourth factor is regarding the creation of an optimum space for both relaxation and discourse that is comfortable and welcoming. The central space was formed via the open plaza which is connected to the main site entrance, and the terrace area was maximized in terms of its functionality through the usage of scenery overlooking the West Sea and various other areas. This area, surrounded by the West Sea and pine forest, was designed specifically as a space of healing and comfort.
