단순히 물리적인 재생이나 개·보수의 개념이 아닌 기존 건축물에 새로운 디자인을 이식시켜 기능적, 환경적, 미적 변이를 이루어 냄으로 신·구의 디자인 공생을 추구한다. 내부적이식(Negative)-캐스트를 통한 공간의 비움: ’4호기는 전체 골격을 유지하면서 문화예술 시설로 개편한다‘라는 기본방향에서 시작한다. 기존의 보일러를 캐스트를 통해 비움으로써 4호기 고유의 아이덴티티를 지닌 다른 기억을 이식한다. 외부에서는 과거의 흔적을 찾을 수 없지만, 내부로 들어가야 찾을 수 있다. 과거의 시간을 담은 기존 흔적은 새로운 내부공간으로 치환되고 현재로 이어지는 장소로 만들어 낸다. 외부적이식(Positive)-이야기를 통한 공간의 체험: ’5호기는 가급적 원형을 유지한다‘라는 기본방향에서 시작된다. 단순히 유리 건물을 덧대어 흔적을 투영시키며 끼워 넣는 방식이 아닌, 공간 속의 이야기를 채움으로써 더욱 의미 있게 만든다는 개념으로 접근한다. 기존의 보일러와 파이프라는 강한 기억에 새로운 인터렉티브 파이프를 이식함으로 과거의 기억을 담은 건물공간은 새 건축물의 내부공간으로 치환되고, 과거의 건물과 새 건물 간의 연속적 흐름이 이어지는 장소로 만들어 내었다. 작동하는 풍경(Operate-Scape) 작동을 멈춘 발전소의 흔적 위에 도시의 문화가 생성되는 문화발전소로 재탄생한다. 비움: 원래 있던 것들을 그대로 두고 사이를 비움. 비워진 공간과 새롭게 채워진 공간을 오고 가며 각각 공간의 자연스러운 소통과 머무름을 유도한다. 채움: 역할이 없는 곳에 역할을 채움, 머물러 행위를 유도하는 문화생성의 마당, 느릿느릿 빈둥거리는 잉여 공간한강의 성장과 함께 해온 일부로써 역사적 가치와 도시문화의 일부라는 점을 반영하고 경관을 같이 만들고자 한다. 한강에서만 바라보는 당인리가 아닌 당인리에서 한강을 바라볼 수 있는 열린 장소, 가고 싶은 장소가 되어 이제는 당인리에서 한강의 역사를 느낀다. 한강의 과거와 현재, 낮과 밤의 모습이 달라지듯, 당인리의 모습도 한강과 같이 변화되고, 호흡하는 장소로 되어간다. 어반스케이프라인 위로 캐스트와 유리로 대비되는 산업시설 아이덴티티가 얹어지고 그 아래로 주변경관을 반영하는 반사 유리가 변화되는 도시와 한강의 모습을 담는다.
Pursue the design co-prosperity of the New and Old by creating functional, environmental and aesthetic variations through implanting new designs into existing buildings rather than just the concept of physical regeneretion or repair. Internal Implanting(Negative)-Empty Space through the Cast: The design starts with the baisc direction; ‘Building No.4 will be reorganized into a cultural and artistic facility while maintaining the overall framework.' By emptying existing boilers through casts, other memories with unique identity of Unit 4 are implanted. Traces can only be found by going inside. Existing traces of the past time are replaced by new interior spaces and created as places leading to the present. External Implanting(Positive)-Experience of Space through Stories: The design starts with the basic direction; ‘ Building No.5 keeps its original shape as much as possible.’ Instead of simply projecting and inserting a glass building, it approaches the concept of making it more meaningful by filling up a story in space. By implanting new interactive pipes into the strong memory of existing boilers and pipes, the building space containing past memories has been replaced by the interior space of the new building, and has been turned into a place where the continuous flow between the old and new buildings continues. Operate-Scape It reborns as a cultural power plant where the culture of the city is created on the trace of a plant that has stopped working. Empty: Leave the original things as they were and leave the void between them.Moving in and out of empty spaces and newly filled spaces, respectively, leads to the natural communication and stay of spaces. Fill: To fill a role where there is nothing; a ground of cultural creation that leads to staying and action; a surplus space that wanders around.As part of the growth of the Han River, we want to reflect the historical valuesand the fact that it is part of urban culture and create a landscape together. It hasbecome an open space, where you can look at the Han River from Dangin-ri, no tjust from the Han River, but from Dangin-ri, where you can now feel the history ofthe Han River. Just as thepast and present and the day and night of Han Riverlook different, Dangin-ri is transformed and becomes a breathing place like HanRiver. On top of the urbanscape, industrial identity that contrasts with casts andglass places and at the bottom, the reflective glass photographs the surrounding changes of urban landscape and Han River. |
